GGI 끼 MID-AUTUMN RAVE
29 September 2023
10pm-3am
ABOUT
Your fave QESEA (Queer East and South East Asian) rave returns to its spiritual home to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most significant and beloved dates of the lunar calendar.
Mid-Autumn Festival centres the values of familial gathering, thanksgiving and ancestor veneration and celebrates the story of moon goddess Chang’e and her companion Jade Rabbit.
As queer ESEA diaspora, we also have the right to gather as one another’s chosen family, to bond over mooncake, and to collectively tap in to source through the portal that is the rave.
And honestly, what’s more queer than a goddess who becomes immortal and flies to the moon to be as far away from her husband as possible, and her rabbit bestie who spends all his days ‘pounding’ to create the ‘elixir of life’?
As per, we will have performances and soundscapes by queer and trans-ESEA talent from London and beyond – to guide you through the collective ceremony that is the rave – served alongside a mouthwatering Vietnamese street food stall hosted by @vinaxoa collective.
Expect a delectable blend of ambient experimental, dubstep, footwork, trance, hard techno and deconstructed club.

We ask for consideration from allies – if invited by friends or partners please pay full price and be aware of the community being centred at the event and the space that you are taking up.
GGI 끼 is a space celebrating ESEA queer culture, away from a fetishising gaze, and a space where queer ESEA excellence can thrive. GGI 끼 is a club nite for the queer, trans and non-binary ESEA community.
