TICKETS

When you book online, you'll receive an email confirmation. If you've chosen the Print At Home option, your tickets will be sent to your inbox, and you won't need to collect them at the box office. If you've chosen the Collect at Box Office option, your tickets will be available from 6pm on the day of the show. To collect them, you'll need to provide your full name, order number, or email confirmation.

Concessions are available for people over 65, those aged 27 and under, students, and those who are unwaged, including individuals on parental leave. If you've purchased a concessionary ticket, you may be asked for proof of eligibility.

All ticket prices, discounts, and offers are subject to availability and may be changed or withdrawn at any time. The Yard reserves the right to introduce new price types or promotional offers, but these will not apply retroactively to tickets already purchased. Any discount codes or promotions can only be redeemed online and are not available at the box office.

Any personal data collected during the booking process is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website.

The Yard Theatre reserves the right to make alterations to an advertised programme rendered necessary by unavoidable causes. Where a production has its own published terms, those terms set out what happens if a named performer is unable to appear.

ACCESS

Access tickets are priced as concessions and can be booked online or through the box office. A free ticket is available for a companion or a personal assistant; companion tickets are booked by emailing boxoffice@theyardtheatre.co.uk or by calling 020 3606 0164.

NO EMPTY SEATS

Tickets for any seats unsold on the day of a performance are available to people aged 27 and under for £5. Patrons may arrive as soon as the theatre opens and the box office team starts taking names 45 minutes before the performance is scheduled to start. Tickets are sold in the order names are taken down. Proof of age must be provided. Further tickets may be released once latecomers can no longer be admitted as per the Latercomers and Re-Entry policy below. No booking fee applies for No Empty Seats tickets.

EXCHANGES & REFUNDS

All tickets are non-refundable, except as set out below or as required by law. In some circumstances, tickets can be returned for a credit voucher, valid for one year, or exchanged for another performance, but this is at The Yard Theatre’s discretion.

In the event of a cancelled performance, rescheduled perforamced, or a show-stopped performance (when a performance is stopped partway through and not recommenced), all bookers will be contacted by The Yard and offered the choice to exchange their tickets for another performance or to receive a full refund. A refund will be issued if there are no available tickets or if the booker is not able to attend another performance.

We may be able to exchange your ticket for another performance of the same production if at least 48 hours' notice is given before the start time. Yard Regulars and Yard Residents may exchange without a fee; for all other bookings a £2.50 exchange fee applies, along with any difference in price between the tickets. If the new performance has a lower ticket price, no refund will be issued for the difference. If your price band is sold out for the new date, we will offer you the closest available band. Exchanges are subject to availability, and please note latecomers will not be eligible for exchanges.

Pre-ordered food and drink are non-refundable unless the performance is cancelled or rescheduled, in which case customers will be given the option to transfer their order to another performance or receive a refund.

BOOKING FEE

A booking fee of £2.50 applies to online and in-person bookings, and £3 to bookings made by phone. The price shown at checkout is the total you pay, and the booking fee is included in that total.

The booking fee is waived on Access tickets and on £5 No Empty Seats tickets.

The booking fee is non-refundable and cannot be applied to a future booking or exchange, except that where The Yard cancels a performance.

AGE GUIDANCE

Some events may have age restrictions, so please check before purchasing to ensure suitability. Age guidance information will be listed on our website when available. For further details, email boxoffice@theyardtheatre.co.uk

LATECOMERS & RE-ENTRY

Latecomers may be admitted at a suitable break in the performance, subject to the discretion to Front of House supervisor. If there is no appropriate moment for entry, latecomers may be refused admission. Due to the intimate nature of our auditorium, late entry may involve crossing in front of the stage. In these cases, no refunds or exchanges will be offered.

If you leave the auditorium during the performance, re-entry will only be allowed at an appropriate moment. If The Yard staff judge that such moment exists you may not be readmitted, and no refund or exchange will be given. The Yard reserves

The Yard reserves the right to refuse admission or take necessary action to ensure the safety, comfort, and security of all audience members.

FOOD & DRINK

Drinks are permitted in the auditorium, but food is not. Only food and drink purchased on the premises may be consumed in the bar. Read more about our food and drink offerings on our website.

FILMING & PHOTOGRAPHY

Filming and photography inside the auditorium are not permitted unless otherwise stated.

YARD CARD MEMBERSHIP

The Yard Card is valid indefinitely unless terminated due to misuse.

Members can claim one free ticket after purchasing tickets for three separate shows. This free ticket offer may not apply to all performances, and cannot be combined with other ticket offers. Members also receive 10% off food and drinks at The Yard, 10% off food at Burnt Umber, and 15% off food and drinks at Crate Brewery (Sunday to Thursday only).

To claim benefits, members must present their Yard Card digital wallet or QR code. Discounts at Crate and Burnt Umber are subject to their own terms. Yard Card benefits and promotions may not apply to all events, and members must not share any codes or vouchers externally. The Yard reserves the right to deny service, amend benefits, or terminate memberships. The Yard Card is non-transferable.

PRODUCTION-SPECIFIC TERMS

Some productions have additional terms. Where production-specific terms differ from these general terms, the production-specific terms apply to that production only.

Lear

Performances of Lear are planned to feature Ian McKellen. As with all live performance, casting is subject to change, and the appearance of any particular performer is not guaranteed. If Ian McKellen is unable to perform, the role will be played by an understudy and the performance will go ahead as scheduled. The Yard reserves the right to make cast changes without prior notice.

Where a performance is affected, ticket holders for that performance will be notified as early as we are able, and offered the same options: attend the performance as planned, with the understudy in the role; exchange to another date if there is availability, or take credit towards a future Yard production; or a full refund of the ticket price. These options are offered to all affected ticket holders on the same terms.

A maximum limit of four tickets per person applies across the entire Lear run, not four per performance. This limit is applied per customer account. We reserve the right to cancel bookings that exceed this limit; bookings from individuals who use multiple accounts or email addresses to get around the limit; bookings which are made using automated or bulk methods; or bookings that we reasonably believe are intended for unauthorised resale.

Tickets start at £10, with the booking fee on £10 tickets for Lear waived. Tickets go on sale in stages: to Yard Residents first, then Yard Regulars and Access members, then to the general public. On-sale dates are published on the Lear event page. Membership must be active before the relevant window in order to book in it. The Yard reserves the right to amend on-sale dates. If we do, members will still get their priority access ahead of the general public.

Tickets may be exchanged to another performance of Lear up to 48 hours before the performance, where availability allows. If a performance is sold out and you can no longer attend, you may return your ticket(s) to the box office via email or phone. We will offer your ticket(s) for resale at face value, and once it resells we will issue you a credit voucher for the face value of the ticket, valid for one year. If it does not resell, no credit will be issued.how

The Yard is the only authorised seller of Lear tickets. Tickets are personal to the individual who books them. Tickets must not be resold or transferred for more than the price paid, or offered for any commercial gain, and must not be advertised on or purchased through any unauthorised resale platform or marketplace. We may cancel, without refund, any booking we reasonably believe has been resold, offered for resale, or bought in breach of these terms, and we may withdraw membership benefits and future priority booking from the account responsible. We reserve the right to refuse admission on a ticket resold in breach of these terms. If your plans change, please return your ticket to us rather than selling it on.
