HACKNEY WICK TOWN HALL
ABOUT
A Town Hall is a meeting, not a building. It’s a chance for us to talk about what matters in Hackney Wick.
It’s not run by any party or business, but by and for local people. It’s an opportunity to get together to work through things that concern us. A chance to discuss, to listen, to be heard and to maybe make some plans. When we’re connected, great things can happen.
The Hackney Wick Town Hall events do not fulfil the agenda of any party, business or organisation – they’re curated and facilitated by local people, and the topics for the discussion is decided on the day by the people who come.
If you’re keen to attend but would like to speak with one of the facilitators first for a bit more info, just get in touch!
FAQs
What is a Town Hall?
A Town Hall is a unique kind of meeting: everyone is welcome, everyone sets the agenda, and everyone speaks.
This might sound like chaos, but there’s a carefully designed process which guides everyone gently through the meeting, ensuring that everyone has the chance to raise an issue for discussion, everyone can take part in as many or as few discussions as they want, and everyone agrees on clear outcomes, actions and next steps.
Who organises the Hackney Wick Town Hall?
The administration of the Hackney Wick Town Hall is currently delivered by a small partnership of local residents and The Wick Award, Hackney Quest, Hackney Wick and Fish Island Creative Enterprise Zone, St Colomba and The Yard Theatre. If you’d be interested in getting involved with this team, please contact us.
